Influence of water rate, gas rate, and bed particle size on bed …

This work investigates the effect of superficial water rate, superficial gas rate, and bed particle size on bed-level and coarse particle flotation performance. 5 kg of quartz in three size ranges (- 1180 + 850 µm, − 850 + 425 µm, − 425 + 250 µm) were used to study the effect of bed particle size on bed-level at varying superficial water rates and superficial gas rates.

Optimization of operating parameters for coarse sphalerite

Abstract Increasing the upper size limit of coarse particle flotation has been a long-standing challenge in the minerals processing industry. The HydroFloat separator, an air-assisted fluidised-bed separator, has been used in this study to float 250–1180 lm sphalerite particles in batch flotation tests and compared to results achieved utilizing a laboratory-scale conventional …

Optimal design of mineral flotation circuits

If the rougher stage for this circuit is designed only to meet the tonnage of 50 t/h with a grade of 2.5%, it will be associated with a lot of difficulties since increasing the amount of metal in the input, in addition to the design parameters, will affect the operating parameters such as the type and amount of chemicals, and pulp density. Table 3.

Detachment of coarse composite sphalerite particles from bubbles …

Mineral flotation is a size dependent process; fine, intermediate and coarse particles show different flotation behaviour. It has been reported that efficient flotation of mineral particles occurs for particle diameters in the range of 10–150 μm (Shergold, 1984, Nishkov and Pugh, 1989).Below the lower and upper limit of this size range, there is low or poor recovery of …

Operating parameters that affect the carrying capacity of column

The mineral slurry tested is the feed to the last cleaning stage of an industrial flotation circuit, which is performed in a column. The mineral has an average density of 3.9 g/cm 3 and the following chemical composition: 51% Zn, 10.5% Fe, 0.77% Pb, 0.62% Cu, 111 g Ag/ton, 7.3% NSG. Main zinc species is sphalerite (which contains around 9% w/w Fe), accompanied …

the frother type and operational parameters on the nano bubble size and thus the flotation response of coarse particles has not been considered although that could be very important [25]. In general, it can be said that the improvement of coarse particle flotation has a great benefit in the separation of minerals, especially industrial minerals.
